DR MARTIN DUNN. MECHANICAL ENGINEER, ALBA ORBITAL

Dr Martin Dunn completed his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in July 2018. He then moved on to apply his expertise in the Aerospace industry when he joined Alba Orbital, the world’s leading PocketQube satellite manufacturer and launch broker based in Glasgow, Scotland. 

Dr Martin Dunn works as a Mechanical engineer at Alba Orbital, where he has contributed to the development of the advanced 3P PocketQube platform, Unicorn-2, and the AlbaPOD V2 PocketQube deployer. His work at Alba also includes being Launch Mission Manager, where he handles the technical aspects of Alba Orbital’s launch broker service.

‘Alba Launch: A flight proven launch infrastructure for PocketQubes’

PocketQube satellites offer a low cost solution to space access and have enabled the rapid development of small scale satellites and associated technologies in recent years. Alba Orbital has developed a low cost, lightweight and flight proven solution for transportation of PocketQubes's via it's AlbaPod satellite deployer. This presentation will give an overview of the qualification process of the hardware and also discuss the launch services available to PocketQube developers flying with Alba Orbital.
